What is your refund policy?

No refunds are given for no-shows or cancellations. Upon payment, all tickets are non-refundable and can only be rescheduled with two week advanced notice.

Do tickets need to be bought in advance? Can I pay cash?

Tickets must be purchased in advance. Our food tour typically sells out quickly ahead of time, so please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a major credit card from our website or by calling EzTix at (866) 736-6343. Cash and/or drop-ins on the day of the tours are not accepted.

Do I need to buy a ticket if I’m not eating?

Yes. All guests must but a ticket even if they don't plan to partake in the food tastings. Non-paying food tour guests will not be able to join the tour for any reason. The ticket fees help cover the costs of all the food samplings and also to pay for your tour guide's wages.

Can I purchase a gift certificate?

Where does the Sonoma Food Tour start?

Sonoma Food Tours start at one of our tasty locations near the downtown plaza. Exact location will be sent to you on your ticket confirmation.

How much food is served on the food tours?

Sonoma Food Tours serve enough food that for most participants, equal to a lunch meal. With the combination of drink and food tastings along with breaks for architectural, cultural, and historical insight, most participants are comfortably full after our food tours. Please understand our food tours are not intended to replace breakfast and lunch combined, so please consider eating breakfast before the tour.

What about taking children on the tour?

Participants must be 21 years old to participate in the Sonoma Food Tours. Families please inquire about a private food tour.

How much walking will there be? What is the pace of the tour?

Our food tour lasts 3.0 hours and participants can expect to be standing or walking for a majority of the time. We walk at a moderate pace and also provide at least three sit-down locations on all of our tours for at least 60 minutes total during the food tour.

What if I have allergies or dietary restrictions?

Please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance, we will try to accommodate your needs; however, not all tasting locations can accommodate. Intolerance to dairy and gluten may be difficult to accommodate on this tour.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Sonoma Food Tours routes are wheelchair accessible.

Are there vegetarian options on the tours?

Yes, there will be an alternative tasting for vegetarians if it is know in advance, at some but not all tasting locations. We will try to accommodate your needs.

Can I shop during the tour?

There may be an opportunity to shop at a few locations; however, if it is busy, we ask that you please wait to shop until after the food tour so that we can stay on our food-tasting schedule and continue with the informative tour and food tastings in a timely manner. We ask you allow time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite locations and/or stores. The tours are on a schedule to arrive at each tasting location so its important to stay on schedule so the food is freshly prepared for the participants.

When is the best time to take tours?

We highly recommend taking our food tours at the beginning of your visit to Sonoma so you allow plenty of time to revisit the wonderful tasting locations. Since our tours usually sell out well in advance, there is not a better day of the week versus another.

Does the tour guide accept gratuities?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, but are not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.

Do we tip the restaurants?

All restaurant gratuities are covered in your ticket price.

Are any beverages served on the tour?

Since we are in the heart of the wine country, at a couple locations we have wine pairings as a part of the food tours. Additionally, water is provided throughout all of our food tours.

Do the food tours end at the same place we began?

No, we do not finish in the exact same location as the meeting point. However, it is very close and the tour guide will be happy to help give you directions.

What types of food tastings are served on the tours?

Food is provided by specialty food shops and local restaurants. For a better idea of what types of locations we will visit, a list of the types of tastings can be found on the Sonoma Food, Wine & History Tour   page of our website.

Are food tours offered in English only?

Yes, we only offer food tours in English. Please Contact Us if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the food tour.

Do food tours run year-round?

The Sonoma Food Tours runs year-round with limited tours in November- February. Click on our Calendar to see the updated list of events.

What happens if it rains?

The food tours are held rain or shine. In the case of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We advise you to check the weather conditions for the day of your food tour and dress appropriately.

Are restrooms available during the food tours?

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations.

Are cameras allowed on the tour?

Yes. Cameras are allowed during the tour. We encourage food tour participants to take photos.

Do we only walk around and sample food?

Sonoma Food Tours combines historical facts & stories, local culture, architecture and culinary insight into a unique 3.0 hour experience.

Are wine tastings included on the tour?

Yes, the food tour has wine tastings. We also have wine tours if you are just interested in wine tasting

Is there parking near the tour starting point?

Yes, there is public parking located behind the Sonoma Barracks on 1st Street East, and at 270 1st St. West. Specific parking details are included in the meeting location directions after purchasing ticket(s) with location and hours.
